GILLIAM ARMS / GTS BALLISTIC PLATE LIMITED WARRANTY
Gilliam Technical Services LLC / Gilliam Arms ("GTS") provides two separate coverages on its ballistic plates. They run independently: one covers how the plate was built, the other covers how long it protects.

GTS also provides a Lifetime "Saved-Your-Life" Replacement (see below).
The Ballistic Performance period is the plate's warranted service life and maximum useful life. Retire and replace the plate at the end of that period; do not wear or use it afterward.
1. Ballistic Performance Warranty - 10 Years (OA+ Series: 5 Years)
GTS warrants that each ballistic plate, when stored, handled, and used properly as part of a system used in accordance with NIJ Standard 0101.07, will continue to meet the NIJ 0101.07 threat level designated on its label for:
· All GTS-built armor: 10 years from date of purchase; and
· OA+ series: 5 years from date of purchase.
This period is the plate's warranted service life and maximum useful life. Ballistic plates shall not be worn or used after it expires. Other events and conditions (see "What Voids the Warranty") can shorten a plate's useful life and can result in serious injury or death; the user must understand and follow all Product Warnings.
Each new plate has been tested at NIJ-accredited laboratories and determined by GTS to meet NIJ Standard 0101.07 for the threat level on its label, as of the time of sale. Whether a returned plate meets this warranty is determined exclusively by GTS in accordance with the Ballistic Performance Specifications below.
2. Workmanship & Materials Warranty - 12 Months
GTS warrants that each ballistic plate will be free from defects in workmanship and materials for 12 months from date of purchase. This covers defects in how the plate was built - for example: delamination or layer separation, defective adhesive or lamination, defective cover, seam, or edge treatment, or dimensional defects attributable to manufacture.
This coverage is separate from, and shorter than, the Ballistic Performance Warranty above. A genuine manufacturing defect, if present, normally becomes apparent within the first year of normal use. The 12-month workmanship period is not a statement of the plate's useful life - useful life is governed by the Ballistic Performance Warranty in Section 1.
3. Lifetime "Saved-Your-Life" Replacement Guarantee
GTS will replace, at no cost, any GTS plate that saves the user from one or more ballistic threats, as supported by a police report. If your GTS armor has saved your life, please let us know and you will receive a full replacement.
What Voids the Warranty
The express warranties above are void as to any ballistic plate that has been subjected to misuse, abuse, accident, neglect, unauthorized alteration, breakage, interruption, damage, improper storage or handling, or unauthorized repair or service. Ballistic plates must always be used in accordance with GTS's current warnings, instructions, and safety guidelines, available at https://gilliamarms.com.
How to File a Warranty Claim
Email info@gilliamarms.com with the following:
1. Order number and date of purchase
2. Product name and SKU (if applicable)
3. Description of the defect - what you observed, when, and under what conditions
4. Photos - multiple angles, including close-ups
5. Your full name and shipping address
A Return Authorization Number (RA#) will be issued before any product is returned. Do not ship product without an RA#. Return shipping is the customer's responsibility unless the defect is determined to result from GTS workmanship.
Upon discovering any defect, the buyer shall immediately cease all use of the plate and, within 10 days of discovery, return it (at the buyer's expense, after obtaining an RA#) to the GTS facility with (1) proof of purchase and (2) documentation of the claimed defect and supporting information.
If GTS determines a plate is defective within the applicable warranty period (per the Ballistic Performance Specifications below, for performance claims), GTS will - at its election, as the sole and exclusive remedy - repair, replace, or issue a pro-rated purchase-price credit for the returned plate.
Disclaimers, Limited Remedies, and Limitation of Liability
The warranty above is the sole and exclusive warranty made by GTS with respect to its ballistic products. It shall not be enlarged by any representations, descriptions, course of dealing, trade usage, technical advice, service, samples, or models, nor altered or expanded by any acts, statements, or agreements of any dealer, employee, or agent of GTS (other than in writing by a duly authorized officer of GTS).
GTS (GILLIAM TECHNICAL SERVICES) MAKES NO OTHER WARRANTIES (EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY, OR OTHERWISE), INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE OR MERCHANTABILITY.
IN NO EVENT SHALL GTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY PUNITIVE, EXEMPLARY, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, ANTICIPATED OR LOST PROFITS, INCIDENTAL DAMAGES, LOSS OF TIME, OR OTHER INDIRECT LOSSES OR EXPENSES ARISING FROM ANY CAUSE RELATING TO ITS BALLISTIC PRODUCTS, REGARDLESS OF THE FORM OF ACTION, WHETHER IN TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), CONTRACT, STRICT LIABILITY, OR OTHERWISE, AND REGARDLESS OF WHETHER GTS HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. IN NO EVENT SHALL THE TOTAL LIABILITY OF GTS (TOGETHER WITH ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS) EXCEED THE PURCHASE PRICE ACTUALLY PAID FOR THE PLATE THAT GIVES RISE TO SUCH LIABILITY.
State laws: Some states do not permit certain limitations on warranties or remedies. Where such a law applies, the foregoing limitations are amended insofar, and only insofar, as required by that law.
Ballistic Performance Specifications
New body armor systems.
Each system sold has been tested at NIJ-accredited laboratories and determined by GTS to meet NIJ Standard 0101.07 for the threat level designated on its ballistic label. This determination is valid as of the time of sale and does not apply to any used system.
Used body armor systems.
To confirm or measure the ballistic performance of a returned used system, GTS may, at its discretion, conduct the following:
6. GTS uses a destructive V50 procedure conducted in accordance with NIJ 0101.07 using the velocities in Table 4 for the threat level on the label. A V50 result less than the highest NIJ reference velocity for the specified threat level + 20 fps may be considered by GTS an unsatisfactory initial result.
7. If the initial result is unsatisfactory, GTS will review all test data and repeat the procedure on up to four (4) additional used systems that (i) are of similar age and wear as the first, and (ii) were made from the same lot of ballistic material. If those additional samples are also unsatisfactory, GTS will repair, replace, or issue a pro-rated credit for a returned plate made from that same lot, per the remedies above.
Compliance with these specifications for any used system is determined exclusively by GTS. Any ballistic or other test performed by a buyer, user, government agency, laboratory, or other party not expressly authorized by GTS is not valid for purposes of this warranty. These specifications are limited to the threats identified in NIJ 0101.07 for the labeled threat level and do not include special or other threats.
Warnings
WARNING: Failure to follow all warnings and instructions can result in serious personal injury or death.
· CHOOSE THE CORRECT PROTECTION. Serious injury or death can otherwise occur.
· Law enforcement and military activities are inherently hazardous. These products will NOT protect against all threats. A ballistic product is a last-resort measure to reduce risk from the threat described in the labeled Threat Level and Standard, after all other means to preserve safety have failed. Always select the proper protection and use other safety measures.
· Position the plate so the "WEAR FACE" is toward the body. Inserting it improperly renders it ineffective and increases the risk of serious injury or death.
· For maximum protection, the plate and its carrier must fit properly. Choose the correct size. Inspect before each use. Replace damaged or worn plates and carriers immediately.
· This plate does NOT protect against sharp-edged or pointed objects.
· This plate is designed to lessen, but not eliminate, the risk of injury or death only from the threats described for the specific Threat Level on the Certification Label per NIJ 0101.07 (as in effect on the Date of Manufacture shown). Read and fully understand that Threat Level, Standard, and its limitations.
· This plate does NOT protect against bursting-munition threats (IEDs, mines, grenades, mortar fire). Serious injury or death can occur.
· This plate is NOT a "bulletproof vest," even for projectiles within the threat level. It provides limited protection to the area it covers. Stopping projectiles will nearly always cause some injury (severe bruising, broken bones, bleeding, internal injury, or death). Projectiles can also ricochet or deflect, causing serious injury or death to the wearer or bystanders.
· This plate provides NO protection to areas it does not cover.
· Do not intentionally get shot while wearing this device. Intentional contact with a bullet or projectile always carries the risk of serious injury or death.
· Do not use the plate if it (1) has been struck, hit, or dropped, (2) is chipped, cracked, delaminated, or separated, or (3) shows any other physical change. Any of these may make the plate ineffective, increasing the risk of serious injury or death.
· Do not soak, submerge, wash, spray, dry-clean, or expose the plate to detergent, bleach, or solvents, and do not iron it. Doing so may render it ineffective.
· Do not remove or obscure the label / ballistic tag.
