Model 8001

Model 8001 is an RF3 ceramic armor plate made with a sintered silicon carbide strike face and polyethylene backing material.  The plate is bonded with our ARMORFILM adhesives.

Developmental history

Model 8001 was developed as a lighter weight alternative to our alumina ceramic Model 1969.  Model 8001 is almost a pound lighter than our similar alumina armor models, but is slightly more expensive.
