Trauma Reducer Plate (TRP) Technology
We offer a Trauma Reducer Plate (TRP) option on some of our armor models. This option can reduce backface deformation (BFD) by 30% or more. The TRP is a composite materials combination that effectively stiffens the wear face and provides additional support to our 100% Ultra-High-Molecular-Weight (UHMWPE) polyethylene backing material.
BFD is an indirect measurement of the ballistic energy that is transferred to the wear plate of the armor (against your body). Our TRP is installed on the wear face and redirects ballistic energy back through the adhesives and crack arresting layer - located on the strike face of the armor.
